Wilmur Rita Wooten was born on November 6th, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri to William H. And Synarvayar Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ronald H. Tyler.
Wilmur was educated in the St. Louis public school system and graduated from O’fallon Technical High School. After graduation, Wilmur accepted a position at The Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis and worked for 30 years with the company. Upon retiring from the bank, Wilmur went on to work as a fine jewelry consultant for Kay Jewelers and Hannoush Jewelers and as a skin care specialist for Clinique and Lancôme. She also became the co-owner of Tiny Steps Daycare.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Triunion African Methodist Episcopal Church for several years.
Wilmur loved all aspects of life and especially enjoyed gardening, cooking, bowling, skating, dancing, and most of all, exploring the world. She visited many places such as; Paris, Jamaica, parts of the Mediterranean and many more. Wilmur had a style of her own which was composed of fashion pieces, fine jewelry, different hairstyles, makeup looks, and of course her signature blonde hair. She was beauty, elegance, and strength all rolled into one classy lady. She was always the life of the party.
Wilmur departed this life on December 31, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters Sheera Burkett, Lorna Wooten, and Joi Ellis; sister, Ava Wood; Life Partner, Debra Sinkfield; her children, Tabatha Chanta, George Sinkfield, Tameka Sinkfield, and Ciara Jambga; eight grandchildren Symphonie Burkett, Timothy Burkett Jr., Armoni Wooten, Dewan Ellis Jr., Kyla Batson, Tionee Ellis, Chloe Ellis; four great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
