Samuel Nelson Obituary

Samuel Elroy Nelson (Big Sam) was born January 21, 2004 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Robert Nelson III and Kennesa Thompson. Sam had always been a noticeably quiet, laid back, very helpful young man with a gentle spirit. The gentle giant is what we called him. He enjoyed art and sports. He finally outgrew all his siblings, which slowed them up from picking on him. He loved spending time with his nieces, nephew, and working with children. He enjoyed spending time with his cousins and close friends.  Samuel would attend church from time to time with several family members and had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

In his free time, Sam enjoyed video games and was good at them. However, he enjoyed the outdoors just as much. Sam enjoyed spending time with all of his grandparents at their homes. Sam was very athletic, he bowled and played basketball and his favorite player was Lebron James. Sam also enjoyed a good movie. He enjoyed attending fun events with his cousins and friends as well as good food, music, and he loved to laugh. Sam was educated in the Jennings School District and the Riverview Gardens School District. Sam was really looking forward to graduating from high school in 2022.

Samuel leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Kennesa Thompson; father, Robert Nelson III; stepmother, Renea Nelson; brothers, Kenny Thompson, Robert Nelson V, and James Nelson; stepbrothers, Markel Hall, Antonio Cannon, and Christian Cannon; grandfather, Robert Nelson, Jr.; grandmother, Hazel Nelson; grandmother, Cheryl Thompson; and a host of nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
