Ms. Tarshia Sakia Jenkins, affectionately known as "Kela", of St. Louis, MO passed away on January 1, 2021 at the age of 44. Keta was bom to parents Carolyn Jenkins and Robert Strong on July 2, 1976. She grew up as the eldest of three children and attended Vashon High School.
Keta was known for many great qualities, particularly her dynamic and fearless persona. She was a force of nature, full of energy and truly unforgettable. Her laugh was infectious, and she possessed an open heart. Keta never met a stranger. She could make anyone feel special. And once you were in her inner circle, you were considered family for life. She ensured you knew how important you were to her, whether through words or deed. Her zest for life and vivacious personality made her a joy to be around. Keto was a phenomenal sister, a loving daughter and devoted friend.
Keta was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her daughters and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma She would do all she could with what she had just to see the smiles on their faces. She especially loved children and aspired to own and operate a children's day care to help young mothers throughout her community.
Keta, is survived by her mother, Carolyn Jenkins Walker (Johnny); father, Robert Strong (Toni); and stepfather, Robert Earl Young; daughters, MarQuiesha Jenkins and
Aesian Clay; siblings, Tawanda Harris (Devai), Robert Jenkins, Mario McCain and Edward Jones (brother-like cousins). Keta is also survived by five grandchildren, David Collins, Aunesti Patrick, Jayde, Jaylee and JayIeah Hardimon; and a host of cousins, acquaintances and childhood friends.
