Ms. Tameria Jean Lowery-Thomas

Tameria Jean Lowery-Thomas was born on March 23, 1946, to the union of Jesse Thomas and Geraldine Elliott in Saint Louis, Missouri. 

Tameria attended Lincoln Senior High School in East Saint Louis, Illinois, where she graduated in 1963 as the class valedictorian. She remained in East Saint Louis until 197 6 before relocating to Saint Louis. 

In June 1966, Tameria married Bob Lowery, Sr; and together, they raised their two children, Sherri and Bobby Jr., and her son, Howard Damion. While their marriage didn't last forever as they hoped, Tameria and Bob remained friends until she departed. 

On December 18, 1992, Tameria graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She was a long-term employee at AT&T, where she later retired. 
Tameria was a devout Christian woman who prayed faithfully, enjoyed worshipping with her congregation, and praising the Lord. She was an active member at Ark of Safety Christian Church under Pastor Raymond D. Horry's pastoral leadership. Tameria attended services frequently and participated in daily prayer calls. 

Tameria was a dedicated mother and loved her role as Grandma Tam. She treasured her children, grandchildren, and great­-grandchildren and embraced every moment she could enjoy with them. She enjoyed cooking the city's finest African greens and banana pudding while celebrating holidays and special occasions with her family. Tameria loved to shop, play games online, talk over the phone, and watch her favorite TV shows. She enjoyed life to the fullest, faced many obstacles, and conquered them all until her final battle. After months of failing health, Tameria departed this earth peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Christian Northeast Hospital. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse, and her grandson, DeMarcus Lowery. 

Tameria leaves many to cherish and carry on her legacy; her mother, Geraldine; her daughter, Sherri (Adrian) Square; two sons, Bobby Jr. and Damion Lowery; her brother, Michael (Lennore) Thomas; grandchildren, Di'Juan (Kris) Rodgers, Mercedes Reynolds, Dante, Dominique, Dariane, DiJ on, and DiShon Lowery; Cierra Keaton, Jasmine, Anthony, Ashley Dillon, and Shaun Stevenson; great-grandchildren, Jabari, Cyra, Kaylen, Di'Juan II, Maurio, Mauricsa, MaKenna, Amiyah, Jordan, Jenesis, Jahzarah, and KJ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, and loved ones.
