Reflections of Her Journey
Monica Brown Boyd was born in St Louis, Missouri to Claude Brown, Sr., and Juanita Brown.
At a young age she confessed hope in Jesus Christ at Fifth Baptist Church.
Monica was an active and faithful member who enjoyed singing in the choir. One of her favorite songs was "Take me to the King" by Tamala Mann.
She graduated from Soldan High School in 1978 where she was a spirited member of her amazing drill team. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1982 from Mizzou in Columbia, Missouri. She worked 15 years for Ameren and retired from the IRS after working there for 20 years.
Monica was a faithful sister, mother and leader to her family showing the goodness of Christ in her life as a believer.
Monica departed this life on Sunday, March 26, 2023, and was preceded in death by her brother Corwin Brown and her father Claude Brown, Sr,
She leaves to cherish many memories her two loving sons Rodney (Jamika) Boyd, Jr., of Saint Charles, Missouri, and Christian Matthew (Chelsie) Boyd of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; her friend Rodney Boyd, Sr.; her mother Juanita Brown; her siblings Claude Brown, Jr., Diane (Bob) Brown, Malcolm Brown, Stacey (Tracey) Brown, Terrolon (Val); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other family members, and friends.
