LIFE REFLECTIONS
MARY HELEN ARNOLD was born in Lexa Arkansas on May 12, 1947 to the union of Elder Emmett Arnold Sr. and Juanita Billingsley Arnold. Mary was the third child born out of 12, six boys and six girls. Her parents, two brothers, Preston and Emmett Arnold Jr., sister, Louie Lee Hobbs, son David Arnold, and daughter, Marja C. McClendon all preceded her in death.
The Arnold family relocated from Lexa, Arkansas to St. Louis, Missouri in 1952. Mary Helen, affectionately known as "Red”, was educated in the St. Louis Public system and went to Soldan High School. She was raised in the church and accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She later joined New Life Outreach Ministries Church in St. Louis, under the leadership of Pastor Linda Boyd.
Mary later moved to Minnesota and worked various jobs including Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, MI, and she also did construction work at Lull Construction Corporation Union Local #132 in St. Paul, MN where she defused mine fields.
Mary would always minister to the lost about Christ wherever she went and to those who were in despair. Her gift was divine. She had a spiritual insight that was beyond belief and would often share her experiences being visited by angels.
Her smile and her presence would light up the room and her very countenance and aura would let you know that you were around someone special. Mary was a woman of virtue, a woman of truth. She often cared about others more than herself. She showed love to her family as well as her many friends. She never met a stranger, and always knew how to make you feel better with a gentle touch and a smile.
Mary was known for her culinary skills, and her home was always open to others for a great meal. She was truly a trend setter with her class and style. Mary will truly be missed.
Red transitioned from this life on Sunday, September 24th at Katy Hermann Memorial Hospital in Katy, Texas at 9:24 p.m.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a son Anthony Arnold of MN, and a daughter DeShonna Arnold of Houston Texas; eight siblings, Minnie (Thurston) Rodgers of Detroit, MI, Barbra Harris of MN, Hartense Arnold of Tampa, FL, Samuel (Littitia) Arnold of St. Louis, MO, Jennette Arnold of MN, Steven (Sabrina) Arnold, of Atlanta, GA, Calvin (Linda) Arnold of St. Louis, MO, and Melvin (LaRita) Arnold of St. Louis, MO; sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
