Reflections of Des’ Determination
Destini Nicole Costello was born February 24, 1997, to Larry and Marlena Costello. She was predeceased by her grandparents Marvin Sutton and Lillie Young; two aunts Shirley Harrison and Sharon Sutton; three great grandmothers Margaret Blanchard and Juanita Costello (Jackie Costello Sr.) and Dorothy Sutton (Horace Howell).
Destini attended the Riverview Gardens school district in her earlier years but graduated from Hazelwood West High School in 2015. She was a student at Flo Valley Community College studying to be a SSD Teacher. Destini had many talents, among them was braiding hair for which she was self-taught.
At an early age she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. She loved the Lord and joined Third Presbyterian Church in 2007.
Destini enjoyed watching reality tv, cooking, shopping with her mom and sisters, and spending time with family. She had the type of personality you couldn’t ignore. She was beautiful inside and out and was a fun-loving person. If you ever met her, it would be hard to forget her. When she walked into the room, she lit it up with her bright smile and big energy.
After a long battle of illness, the Lord called our Des home on March 27, 2023.
Destini’s unconditional love will live through her wonderful parents Larry and Marlena Costello; her loving brother Dailon; her beautiful sisters Diamond and Desire; her amazing granny Phyllis Allen; her terrific uncles Jamaal Allen and Larry Robinson, and her one astonishing uncle Marland Blanchard (Sandra Blanchard); four outstanding cousins Marland Blanchard II “MJ”, Zander Blanchard, Breuntaa Glenghorn “Tay Tay,” and Denver Rockett “Juicy” whom she shared a close and special bond with; and an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
