Life Reflections
Deborah Jean Smith was born on October 9, 1954, to the union of Irene Crawford and Milton Smith in St. Louis, Missouri. She married Clinton Billups on December 30, 1977, and became Deborah Billups.
Her father Milton Smith and both grandmothers, Carrie Lee Boone and Minnie Boyd, preceded her in death. Her puppy, “Cash,” also preceded her in death.
On Saturday, March 25, 2023, Deborah departed this earth at SSM Saint Mary’s Hospital.
Deborah graduated from Soldan High School and later went to college at Forest Park Community College for general studies. She worked in the nursing field.
She confessed a hope in Christ at Faith Church, in Earth City, Mo, under the pastoral leadership of Pastor David Crank.
Deborah loved to skate and skated as a child at Steinberg Skating Rink. In her adult years she was an excellent skater and loved to skate at Skate King Roller Rink. She gained a host of very close friends throughout her skating years.
Deborah loved to shop and had an eye for fashion. She was very, “Jazzy!” Everyone who knew her, knew that she also loved to talk on the phone.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her mother Irene Crawford; her son Orville Smith (daughter-in-law Tonita); her daughter, Tasha Billups; a bonus son, DeAndre Buckner; two granddaughters Verniesha and Ashley; two grandsons Tajh and Marquis; a great-granddaughter, Demi; three sisters, Velvet Pleas, Myrtle Alexander, and Linda Hamptiol; two brothers Eric Gates and Ronnie Smith. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She had a special place in her heart for a bonus granddaughter, Trinity Barnes.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”
