Reflections of Terrie’s Journey

Terrie Lynn Logan was born on October 7, 1962, in St. Louis, MO to Nathaniel and Doris Logan, who preceded her in death. Terrie attended Beaumont High School and graduated in 1981. Terrie, Kathryn and Michelle had a singing group called the Famous Three in which they would entertain students during their lunch with their beautiful voices.

Terrie met Ronald Blackwell In 1982 and within the 33 years they were together, they brought two children, Terrell and Derrell Blackwell, into the world.  Ronald also preceded her in death in 2015.  No barrier was too strong to deter her from providing the best life she could for her sons.  She intentionally exposed them to the many possibilities that life had to offer.  To ensure her success as a mother, she gave them the best of which she knew.

Terrie was a dedicated healthcare worker and took care of many family members for over 30 years, retiring in 2019.  Terrie enjoyed family gatherings, cooking for the family, and listening to music. She enjoyed playing her old albums and cooking her famous Mac and cheese. Her love and commitment to family grew deeper with the arrival of her three grandchildren. Terrie loved spending time with her grandchildren as much as possible. She was also blessed with many enduring friendships throughout her life's journey.

Terrie was called to Glory on October 15, 2023 at 5:27 PM surrounded by her loving family. Terrie leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Terrell and Derrell; three grandchildren, Zeke, Derrell, Jr., and Avah; two brothers, Nathaniel Jr., and Dawan; one sister, Kathryn; one stepbrother, Maurice; two stepsisters, Khyanna and Tameka; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
