Mrs. Muriel Jones Obituary

Muriel Elois, greets you with her contagious exuberant spirit, enthusiastic, adventurous outlook a big smile easily lighting up any room she enters!

Born in spring, second of eight children to Aurelia E. & Johnnie Lee Champion, Muriel's life time love for knowledge & learning was shared with all especially her younger siblings for whom she considers as her friends as well as close family. She couldn't help but give unsolicited advice that you later realize, most times, she was right-so once you began to listen, all her advice paid off! - Ephesians 3:14-19

Muriel gained her interest in many topics, including history, geography, civil rights & music during secondary schooling at Vashon High in St. Louis, Missouri. There she enjoyed playing the clarinet in the school's marching band where she set a foundation of 'band life' for her & her sister's to bond with.
As a University of Missouri chapter member of ABC (Association of Black Collegians) Muriel met Florissant Valley College attendee, Marvin Bell at a local meeting They later married and of this union came "two kids" Kenya Garron and Tannya Kareen.

Muriel dedicated her life to Jehovah on February 14, 1981, at the Assembly Hall for Jehovah's Witnesses, 953 Laredo Ave Spanish Lake, MO. Muriel spent many hours generously discussing her faith in Jehovah with others becoming a pioneer in November of 2012. Through her faith, Muriel was able to meet lifetime friends who continue to mirror her love & faith in Jehovah God. -Psalm 27:13

Muriel's adventurous spirit would take her exploring internationally to many different places including the Caribbean, Europe and Africa including stops in Senegal and Egypt. She also traveled to many far away places across the United States-New York, Alaska and her favorite vacation destination; Atlanta, Georgia where extended trips were frequently made to visit her daughter, grandchildren and her 'down south kin'. Letting anyone know "I'm a country girt." MU

In her many travels she developed a love for photography, capturing the many beautiful scenes, scenery and people she'd experience of God's creation. That love led her to photographer, Alexander Jones, Jr. Muriel & Alexander married on March 14, 2004. They have been making picturesque memories for 19 years. In this union she found a life partner, a travel partner, and a partner who shares many things together including their love for Jehovah and his promise of a paradise earth. -Luke 23:43
As a Beloved grandmother, Muriel invoked her love of tea parties on her granddaughters and her passion for reading to all of her grandchildren with every visit. (you knew you were going to read something if you went to grandma's house!)

Muriel's love and care extended past her family to helping others. For more than 20 years she worked at Barnes-Jewish Hospital as a Patient Safety Assistant doing her part to heal with biblical words of encouragement. - Romans 1:12

Muriel was the epitome of a big sister, always being involved in her siblings lives offering guidance, advice, and understanding and to each one making it clear who is her favorite.....
