Mrs. Gloria Spann Obituary

GLORIA JEAN SPANN was born on September 25, 1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the parents of Lino and Hattie Alcaraz. She passed away peacefully in her home on July 4, 2021 at the age of 85.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Patrick Spann; sisters, Cesaya, Delores, and Reyes; brothers, Lino, Lorenzo, Ambrose, Tony, Maximina, and Raymond.

Gloria aka "Granny," was one of the sweetest and kindest spirits God ever made. She was a very soft spoken woman who seldom raised her voice. She confessed her love for God at an early age and i found joy in attending Christ our Redeemer A.M.E Church on a regular basis. Granny loved the Lord and loved her life walking and talking with Him daily. Many people characterized her as a very caring and kindhearted person.

Gloria's employment with the Ferguson Florissant School District spanned over many years. As a billing clerk, she was often praised for her meticulous work. Granny was also known for her soul food Sunday dinners, garage sales, and family nights with her children and grandson.

Gloria is survived by her two brothers, Alphonso and Trini; her son Anthony (fiancee Debra); daughters, Gwendyl Spann and Pamela SpannBaker (Bill Baker). She also leaves to honor her memory, Opie, Dwayne, Dylan and Cody; her grandchildren, Cameron, Raphael, Danielle, and Christopher; great grandchildren, Cameron, Isaiah, Avery and Noah. Aunt Gloria also leaves a host of nieces and nephews in Chicago, California, Texas, and Washington, and extended family and friends.
