Mrs. Bridgette Monique ("Punkin") Smith-Harris

Bridgette Monique Smith-Harris, was born on September 28, 1972, in Springfield, IL. She passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 47 on July 10, 2020.

Bridgette is lovingly remembered by her mother, Delores Harris, her husband, Charles “Peewee” Harris. Siblings: Cassaundra Smith, Courtney “Swole” Harris (Angela), Darren Hale, Sullivan “Poo” Green, Charleston Day, Bridgette Taylor, and God Brother Kim. Children: Jasmine, LaVell, LaCharles, Zenova (Emmanuel), Treasure, Chas, Asia, and Faith. Grandchildren: Paul “Lil P”, Chakir, Tira, Amiyah, and Uriah. Nieces and Nephews: Shrarre’, Brittany, Marshall, Antonio “Bone”, Kourtland, and a host of bonus nieces and nephews that she loved dearly! Bridgette had a host of special aunts and uncles including: Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Patterson, the JVL community, and her Midtown family. 

Bridgette attended Vashon High school, and later received her GED. For many years, she worked as a CNA, and she recently used her love for cooking to create Punkin’s Kitchen, serving customers at Midtown Bar and Grill. Bridgette enjoyed serving those around her, comforting others, and having front row seats to watch her children, grandchildren, and all of their friends grow and mature. She will be greatly remembered for the love she showed, her genuine personality, and deep loyalty to those in her life.

Bridgette is preceded in death by her biological father Harry Smith, father Charles Dickerson, mother in law Juanita “New” Drew, sister Christine, Uncle Alvin, Great Grandparents, Special Grandfather Sylvester Henderson, Sr., Jermaine “Jay”, Tony “T Blood”,  D’Angelo “Lil Dee” Burgess, Shannie, Yana, Jackie, and a host of others.
