William “Trés” Clemons, III was the second born child and only son to Brigitte and William Clemons, Jr. on April 10, 1994.
Trés graduated from Lutheran High School North in 2013. He completed some courses at Florissant Valley Community College while simultaneously working in sales.
In spite of his physical limitations, he was able to live a fulfilled life. Trés had a love for sports and enjoyed rattling off random stats of his favorite players. In his stronger years he participated in Tae Kwon Do, basketball, baseball, and track & field. He was also known to dominate on the pool table.
His love of music revealed his old soul, Christian roots and R&B vibe with Santana, Earth Wind and Fire, Kirk Franklin, Chris Brown and Australian YouTuber-William Singe being some of his favorites. He often joked of his failed attempts at playing saxophone and his childhood stint with the drums.
Family meant everything to him. Trés’ closest bonds were definitely with his cousins. He was known for being “Mr. Steal Your Girl” as he charismatically charmed his older cousin’s girlfriends. He was lighthearted, kind and incredibly selfless even until the very end. Trés had registered himself to be a donor and give anyone else the gift of “second chance” just as he’d received.
“Trés Stacks” was also known for being incredibly cool yet strong. Even with his smaller frame, he carried himself with the brawn of someone 4 times his size. His mental fortitude was unmatched, being able to tolerate way more than anyone else in the room and never commanding attention or praise for it. He also loved to have a good time and would crack jokes just to engage with others and hit the dance floor when able.
Above all else, Trés had a relationship with Jesus Christ. He made the decision to be baptized at the tender age of 5. He served on the Jr. Usher board and Little Angels’ Choir at Market Avenue Church of God under Pastor Emeritus Timmie McNeese, where he also participated in Youth Group Activities. After transitioning over to Shalom Church City of Peace, he participated in the King’s Men Ministry as health would permit. He cherished the guidance of Pastor F. James Clark and Minister Preston Williams. Additionally, he maintained prayer ties with New Life in Christ Interdenominational Church and One Family Church.
Peacefully and surrounded by his parents and sister, he passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 29 years. Trés was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Frank Smith, Jr.; his Uncle David Clemons; Great Grandparents-Dewey Grimmett, Ardell and Luke Gillespie, Myrtle and Frank Smith, Sr., and Willie and DeVerne Venerable; along with several great aunts and uncles.
Trés will be lovingly survived by his father William Clemons, Jr, his mother Brigitte Clemons, his sister Eryn Simmons, his nephew Stephen “Deuce” Simmons, II, his niece Ryen Simmons, Godson Ty’Ayre Jordan, his grandparents William Clemons, Sr., Gwendolyn Clemons, and Elsie Smith, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, Godparents/God sister and friends.
