ROBERT (BOB) L. MOORE was born in Darling, Mississippi to Fred L. Moore and Charlie C. Moore Veal who preceded him in death. Bob was the youngest of three siblings, Jeanette King (who preceded him in death) and Ada Truss.
Bob is survived by a loving and devoted wife (Alicia); five sons, (Christopher, Philip, Anthony, Omar Sr., and Jason); seven grandchildren (Alicia, Omar Jr., Anastasia, Devontre, Xavier, Hannah, and Sarah); and nieces and nephews (Kermit, Orlando, Deborah, Linda, Tavita and Shakira).
Bob retired in 1979 after serving 20 years in the U.S. Army where he was stationed throughout the United States, Panama, and Vietnam. During his service to our country, Bob earned numerous medals, ribbons, citations, and badges.
Immediately following his retirement from the U.S. Army, Bob accepted a letter carrier position with the U.S. Postal Service where he worked until his retirement in 2002. Neither heat, cold, rain or snow could keep Bob from making his daily mail deliveries. Bob was one of many dedicated Mail Carriers, who hardly, if ever took a sick day of leave.
In retirement, Bob enjoyed cooking, listening to blues and Salsa music, fishing, landscaping and spending time with family.
