MARVIN COTTON was born the fourth and last child to James and Iola Cotton on 2/26/1956. They preceded him in death along with his eldest brother, James Cotton Jr. and his eldest sister, Bertha L Jackson.
Marvin had the opportunity and given the chance, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior under the leadership of Bishop Melvin S. Dunn, at Christian Faith Center Church, in Saint Louis, Missouri.
He attended schools in the Kinloch and Wellston Districts.
Marvin was united in Holy Matrimony to Mary Clark and to that union four children were born.
Marvin had a knack for making friends and helping others to see the brighter side of life. He was a master at handball and won several awards. He loved playing badminton, spades and uno.
He was a member of The Moorish Science Temple of America.
Marvin departed this life on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
He leaves to cherish and live out his memories: his wife, Mary Cotton; four children, two sons, Marvin Cotton, Jr., (Elizabeth) and Maurice Cotton and two daughters, Maria and Melanie Cotton; one sister, Gustine Dunn (Melvin S.); seven grandchildren, Jason, Christian, Kyle, DeAndre, Kennadi, Elijah, and Mackenzie; several special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will all see him on the other side of life's journey.
It's never goodbye. We always say, "See You Later and Peace."
