Mr. Lonnie Bell III Obituary

LONNIE BUFORD BELL, III affectionately known as "Buzzy," was born on September 22, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the first child born to Joyce (Skinner) Bell and the Lonnie Buford Bell, Jr.

Lonnie was raised in the loving and spiritual home of his late grandmother, Anna Skinner. He attended Berean and Northside Seventh Day Adventist Christian Church and was baptized at an early age. Lonnie always maintained a close spiritual connection with Jesus.

Buzzy was educated in the St. Louis Public Schools at Beaumont High School where he • was an outstanding football player and received a Varsity letter. He also attended Forest Park Community College.

Buzzy worked for the U.S. Postal Service and Board of Election Commission but his heart was with the Board of Education position where he prepared and served food to the students.

Buzzy's love for music began when he studied and played classical piano; which later led him to an appreciation of various genres and musical artists, ranging from old school rap, R&B, Parliament Funkadelic, Prince, to Amy Winehouse and Lady GaGa.

Buzzy's lightheartedness was only superseded by his love to eat and cook. His kind heart and unselfish spirit was demonstrated by the years he spent as caregiver to his beloved grandmother Ann.

Being a 14-year Cancer survivor, Buzzy's death was sudden and unexpected. He departed this life at home on November 1, 2021. Lonnie was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Anna Skinner; father, Lonnie Bell, Jr.; and nephew, Christopher Nance.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Joyce Bell Murray, and stepdad, Wayne; grandmother, Jerry Skinner; two sisters, Marguerite Roberts (Marrio), and Sonya; five brothers, Antonio, Michael, Damien, D' Andre, and Lionel; two great aunts, three aunts, one uncle and a host of loving family and friends.
