Mr. Leon Johnson Obituary

Devoted father, a mentor to many, and a friend to all.  Leon was happiest playing darts or cards with family and friends and sipping on a little Hennessey. He will be remembered for his teasing jokes, his wildly entertaining stories, his unfailing work ethic, and his generous smile.

Born September 11, 1952 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Leo Johnson and Annie Mae Husband, Leon was educated in the St. Louis Public School System, graduating from Vashon High School. He went on to further his education, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from St. Louis University in 1975, graduating a full semester before his classmates.  Following his college graduation, Leon began his professional career in Madison Wisconsin as a Certified Public Accountant.  Leon was a successful Entrepreneur and Educator for most of his life.

Leon was wise beyond his education and people of all ages and stations in life sought his advice and benefitted from his counsel.

In his earlier years Leon was an enthusiastic boxer and exceptional swimmer.  He has always enjoyed watching all sports, and particularly loved watching football and attending St. Louis Cardinals’ games.  Leon could also watch western movies for hours at a time.

Leon was preceded in death by his Mother, Annie Mae Husband and his Father, Leo Johnson.  His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his children: Victoria Payne (Erick), Sharon Johnson, Canice Weatherall (Jason), and Justin Johnson.  Leon also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Eddie Mae Adkins, Milton Johnson (Elizabeth), Betty Todd (Havis), Earnest Husband, Leola Johnson Abercrombie (Richard), Rosemary Johnson, E. Annette Harrison (Donald), and Lee Husband, Grandchildren Vanessa and Vivien, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
