Mr. Leon Frazier, Jr. Obituary

Leon was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Leon and Martha (Norman) Frazier. He was the second child of three children. 

Leon was baptized at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church at an early age. He later joined St. Engelbert Catholic in 1959, now St. Elizabeth Mother of John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a member of the church's parish council, St. Vincent DePaul food pantry, and Heart to Heart fund raising committees. 

Leon was educated in St. Louis Public Schools and later attended Muriel Business School in St. Louis, Missouri. Leon served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge. 

Leon married Queen Esther Simon on May 22, 1955, and to this union seven children were born. Leon worked in the St. Louis Public Schools for 44 years, and the St. Louis Juvenile Detention Center for 20 years. He touched many lives in his lifetime. Leon and Queen Esther worked as travel agents, taking large groups to Las Vegas, on several cruises, and tours to Spain as well as many other places. 

Leon was a charter member of the Knights of Peter Claver, Monsignor John Shockee Council 213 for 4 2 years. As a member of Council 213, he was elected Grand Knight, Treasurer, Junior Knight Commander and served on many committees locally and nationally. Leon attended Central State Conferences and National Conventions for many years. 

Leon was a member of the Board of Directors for the St. Louis Public School Retirement Pension and for the St. Louis Teachers Credit Union, as well as block captain for the 4700 block of Anderson in his subdivision. 

Leon was an avid lover of the arts and theatre - The Black Rep and Fox Theater. He sponsored many events to the Fox Theatre with his church members, family, and friends. Leon received the National Silver Medal Award, Roy Henry/Bob Hailey Award, and Benjamin E. Givens, Sr., Award from the Knights of Peter Claver. He also received an award from the St. Louis Community Credit Union for his leadership of 30 years. 

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Edna, his brother Eugene, and two sons Mark and Sterling. Leon departed this life on May 20, 2021. 

Leon leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 66 years, Queen Esther Frazier; daughters, Lisa Marie Jones and Linda Diana Ford (Keron Ford); sons, Quentin Earl Frazier, Michael Alan Frazier (Shai Frazier) and Stanley Leon Frazier; grandchildren, Quenetra Frazier, Lashunda Isreal, Anthony Jones, Natetra Frazier, Tomeka Jones-Johnson (Traxler Johnson), Mia Frazier-Jones, Duranta Fitzpatrick, Rishaun Edwards, Quentin Frazier Jr., Keron Ford Jr., Stanley Christopher Frazier Jr., Gabriel Frazier, Christine Frazier, Alexandria Frazier; niece, Christine Simon; a host of great and great-great grandchildren, cousins, church members, Knights of Peter Claver members, and friends.
