Kenneth Maurice Rainey, II was born to LaTosia Bass and Kenneth Rainey, Sr., on December 10, 1999, in St. Louis, Missouri. When Kenny was 12 years old, he dedicated his life to Christ. He knew the Lord and attended Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church for many years with his mother.
Kenny played defensive tackle nose guard for the Wildcats of Hazelwood West Middle School, and graduated from Belleville East High School in Belleville, Illinois in 2018.
Kenneth played big brother to everyone and loved all of the kids. He let them all beat him up at every moment they had. He took his bond with his cousin, Sergio, and multiplied it deeper. He cherished every moment with him and cared for him as his own. Sergio was a part of him, and Kenny took him under his wing. What’s understood doesn’t need to be explained. Theirs was a bond that could not be broken.
Kenny was a skilled craftsman and a great builder. He loved music and electronics, and could reassemble any electrical item. He had a heart of gold and adored his great-grandparents, his “daddy” James Hardy, and “grandma” Emma Hardy. For them, he would do anything.
Kenny’s laugh was deep and contagious, especially with his mom, LaTosia. They had a special relationship that was admirable and irreplaceable. Kenny honored his mother to no end. His smile was so bright; he was his mother’s “SONshine.”
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories: his loving great-grandparents, James and Emma Hardy; his parents, LaTosia Bass and Kenneth Sr.; a special relationship with Tredell Cummins who helped raise him as a preteen; godmother, Nicole Henley; grandparents, Laverne Hardy and Anthony Bass; two aunts, Ashonda Bass and Patricia Bass; six uncles, Michael Boyd, Tyrhan (Ciera) Hardy, Earl (Kaleithia) Woods, Noah Hardy, David Rainey, and Tyrone Woods; godsister, Samaurri; sisters, Shania Davis and Kania; brothers, Kai Rainey and Dre; a special cousin, Tyreese Hardy; a host of cousins; and his best friends, Blaine, David, and Donavan. Kenny was a special father to Rosalie and Joseph (Becky). Please know that Kenny will always love you. And to the twins, Jaston and Jase (Janei), you are forever embedded in his heart.
