Mr. Johnnie Piece Obituary

PIECE was an exceptional and extraordinary man. Piece was born into a family conditioned with a slavery mentality and a family indoctrinated with fear and societal insecurities. As a young boy, he was bullied and chased home due to his humble ways, but I as his sister was there to fight his battles. Piece was 15 years old when he quit attending high school. He felt high school wasn't moving fast enough, so he enrolled in Forest Park College, got his GED and then joined the Army to serve his country. After joining the Army, he realized he had no country, so he began to teach himself a better way to keep it all together.

Because he was able to self-educate himself, he was offered a position in the Army to educate other soldiers on human relations, communication, self-esteem and racism. He opened doors to minds and attitudes that changed lives, caused growth and developed relationships. Piece was honorably discharged and returned home at the age of 26. It was at this time his life changed.

The Piece we knew died at 28 years of age. Piece became a person that even he could not relate to. He knew something was happening to him, so he wrote a letter to the United States government declaring himself mentally ill and requested full benefits for himself to survive. He came to me and let me know what was happening in its early stages and gave me instructions on how I was to help him. So, from the age of 26 until his deliverance at the age of 70 years, he has been guarded by our Creator and his sister, Faye.

Piece was delivered, set free and healed from years of mental illness on June 14th, 2021. He has been freed from hurting himself from a past he had no control over. Piece has reached his Exodus. He is now at peace, and no longer feels pain, fear, or anger. Piece has been rescued from himself. God has delivered Piece and he is now with his God, because this was his exodus.

Be at peace my brother and know that you were and are loved.

Piece leaves behind his son, Alfonso Piece; his sister, Faye Millett; nephews, Marvin Mallette, Jr., Terronn Millett, Omarr Millett, and McDowell Howard; granddaughters, Emirah Piece and Niah Piece. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, family and friends. His parents, Johnnie and Minnie Piece, and his son, Bryant Piece, preceded him in death.
