Mr. John Earl ("John II") Sumlin II

On December 15, 1971, JOHN E. SUMLIN II was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to his parents John Earl Sumlin, Sr., and Rosie Marie (Ray) Sumlin. John II is predeceased by his beloved father who provided a wonderful life for their family while servicing our country in the armed forces. The family moved to Clarksdale, MS when John was still a toddler. 

While in high school, John met a beautiful girl named Angela Shaw and yes, he married his high school sweetheart. The two were married on May 2, 1998, and have two beautiful daughters. John attended and graduated from Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS. He pledged Kappa Alpha Psi. After graduating, he wanted something more for his family than the small town of Clarksdale had to offer. So, with a tank of gas and several interviews lined up, John and his family arrived in St. Louis, Missouri and never looked back. 

Throughout his career, John worked for several car dealerships but relished the longest tenure and greatest success with Bommarito Automotive Group, 10 years, and the Auffenberg Dealer Group, where he enjoyed over 29 years as a car salesman and then as a sales manager. He also maintained his membership with his fraternity and was a proud, active, and dedicated leader of the St. Louis Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. 

John is survived by: his loving and devoted wife of 23 years, Angela; two beautiful daughters, Johnalynn and Anna-Marie Sumlin; his mother, Rosie Marie Sumlin; his sister, Kiesha Sumlin; his friends and coworkers at Auffenberg Dealer Group; and his fraternal brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. - St. Louis Alumni Chapter. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
