JEROME HENDERSON SR. was born August 18, 1965 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born the 12th child of 14 children to Oscar Lee and Raise Lee Henderson. Preceding him in death was his mother, father, four brothers, Calvin, Vernell, Terry and Freddie Henderson; three sisters, Flora Willis, Raise McKinley, and Betty Jean Henderson Washington Davis.
Jerome attended Vashon High School.
Jerome confessed his life to Christ in 1987 at Abundant Life under the leadership of Pastor Samuel Earl.
Jerome was a hardworking man who worked collective jobs where he graced his presence with his outgoing personality.
Jerome met Denise Harris in 1987 at Abundant Life. They were united in Holy Matrimony on July 5, 1988. From this union, two children were born, Tenise and Jerome Henderson,Jr.
Jerome loved his family. He instilled in his kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and siblings the importance of family. He was known for his voice-tress personality. One of his favorite sayings was, "Such a nice young man always willing to help ... others." Then he would give his loud and contagious laugh.
On Sundays and family day, he would prepare a big meal and invite family over for Sunday dinner for laughter and love. Jerome loved God. No matter the circumstances, he faced in life, he always kept God in the center. He was also known for his famous lemon cake that everyone loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Denise Henderson; his only daughter, Tenise Skeen (Alex); his son, Jerome Henderson,Jr. (Erin); five grandsons, Tavin (Butta), Mallek, Ronalda, Ramario, and Brody (Braham); three sisters, Lori Henderson, Valerie Henderson, and Linda Hemphell; four brothers, Andre (Laura), Joseph Qackie), Robert (Diane) Henderson and Willie (Marilyn) Williams. He was also loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
