Mr. James Lee ("Curly") Rogers III

JAMES LEE ROGERS, III was born March 23, 1970 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the union of Sophie Ann Rogers and James Lee Rogers, Jr. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sophie Rogers (1948-2018) and son James Lee Rogers, IV (1996-2020). 

James attended Hazelwood Public Schools and graduated from Hazelwood East in 1989. James continued his education at Southeast Missouri State to pursue his football career. He also continued his education at Ranken Technical and graduated with honors for Engineering and HV AC Heating and Cooling. 

James was united in holy matrimony to Mattie Monique Woodard. They enjoyed 24 years of marital bliss and in their union, two children were born: James Lee Rogers, IV and Mattie Desaralla Rogers. Also, James gained a stepdaughter, Arrione (Dezi) Taylor. 

James was employed with AT&'.T for over 20 years. The company then merged with Lucent Technology and he continued his work with them for another 20+ years. He was currently employed with UMSL (University of Missouri-Saint Louis). 

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Mattie Monique Rogers; daughter, Mattie Desarailla Rogers; stepdaughter, Arrione Desaray Taylor (Dezi); his grandson, Mason Haynes; uncle, Larry Valiant; his childhood friend, Bernard Whittington; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
