GERALD ANTOINE RHODEN was born May 16, 1962 to Bernice Smith and Edward Rhoden. His father preceded him in death.
Gerald learned about community service at the age of twelve, working at the neighborhood convenience store selling fruits and vegetables.
Gerald accepted Jesus Christ at an early age as a member of New Jerusalem M.B. Church# 2.
Gerald was educated in the Normandy School District and was chosen to deliver the class speech at the Normandy Jr. High School graduation. While attending Hazelwood East High School,
Gerald was an honor student and an exceptional football and baseball player. He received a four year Athletic Scholarship to Baker University in Ballwin City, Kansas and after completing two years, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Gerald was the proud father of his only child Nikkia Rhoden (Harris).
This chapter in Gerald's life came to close on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Bernice Smith Silas; daughter, Nikkia Rhoden Harris (Dejuan); two grandchildren, Lauryn Taylor and Dylan Cunningham; two brothers, Donald Veal (Connie), Doran Rose; two sisters, Dr. Pamela Kemp, Kim S. McNeal (William); four aunts, Lula Mae Gordon, Dorothy Smith Turner, Sharon Nichols, Mary Calvin; uncle, Edward Charles Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. His cousin, Darwin, was also his best friend.
