DAVID JAMES HENDERSON was born onFebruary9, 1947, in Mound Bayou, Mississippi, to the union of J.W. Henderson and Lula Dixon. On June 30, 1984, he married the love of his life, Ella "Jean" Henderson.
David worked as a construction worker and received honors from the Laborers International Union of North America for his dedicated work of over 30 years. He was a big family man, and in his leisure time he enjoyed taking his family to the drive-in, bowling, and teaching his children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and all of their friends how to fish. You could always count on
David to give you a big laugh, cracking jokes on everyone he loved. He was a strong male figure, a breath of fresh air, and a role model to all.
David was preceded in death by: his mother, Lula Dixon; his father, J.W. Henderson; his sisters, Daisy Bell Walker, Edna Ward, Elma Solomon, and Janet Henderson; his brother, Robert Henderson; his daughters, Claudette Albritton and Yolanda Moss; his son, David "Boo" Johnson; son-in-law, Damon}. Troupe; and his great-grandson, Azir Truth Daniels.
David is survived by: his wife, Ella Henderson; siblings, Levi Solomon, William Solomon, Jr., Joseph Henderson, Fred Burks (Katie), Lucille Thacker-Henderson, Tom Henderson (Mary), Willie Lee Henderson (Mary), Willet Henderson, and Richard Henderson (Belinda); son, Timothy Johnson (Michelle); daughters, Debbie Henderson, Tricia Stepney Qames), Davenia Crowder (Marvas), and Evie Troupe; and a host of granddaughters, grandsons, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends.
