Obituary

A Time To Be Born
Cortez Rammon Jamison was born to Samuel C. Jamison and Nickhole S. Edwards on September 3, 1996 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Cortez confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Rhema Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri.

A Time To Learn & Serve
Cortez was educated in the Rockwood School District and graduated from Soldan International Studies High School in 2015. He served in the United States Marines and was discharged January 2021.

Summation
Cortez was a loving son and brother that was so giving and caring towards everyone he encountered. Being raised in the City of St. Louis, Cortez was a member of the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club, where he played football from the age of 7 to 13 years old. His smile always lit up any room he entered. He was a well mannered gentleman with exceptional respect for all. Serving in the military was an honor and a dream fulfilled of his. Before he was discharged home he was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He was prescribed medication to help him cope with the extreme symptoms this disease causes. Cortez was seeing a therapist virtually under the medical benefits the military provided while he was under their care taking the prescribed medication. After Cortez was discharged and home he was stripped of all health benefits, and unable to provide himself with medical insurance to continue receiving therapy while he continued to take his medication. Cortez was battling PTSD without a therapist for four months while taking his medication. Cortez’s immediate family was unaware of the symptoms and side effects of the medication (disorientation, confusion, headaches, out of body experiences, suicidal ideations, agitation, weight gain/loss).  Cortez displayed these behaviors and tried to seek guidance and help, but the medication took over him. He lost his battle with PTSD.

A Time Of Transitioning
Cortez departed this earthly life on June 29th, 2021.He leaves to cherish his memory his Mother Nickhole Edwards, father Samuel Cortez Jamison; sister Nikiya Jamison and brother B.J. Jamison; Grandparents Regina Dunn and Billy Joe Edwards Sr.; Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Friends, Comrades, Brothers & Sisters in Arms. Cortez will be loved, honored and missed by all of us.
