Mr. Charles Thomas, Sr. Obituary

CHARLES E. THOMAS SR. (MOE) was born March 4, 1953 in Shaw, Mississippi to the late Maese, Sr., and Irene Thomas. Along with his parents, also preceding him in death are five sisters, Rosie Lee Ward, Mosie Lee Ginn, Pearlie Mae Ward, Helen Stewart and Norma Thomas; one brother, Robert Thomas and a grandson, Mautrell Wilkes.

Charles confessed his soul to Christ at an early age. In 1965, Charles and his family moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he attended the St. Louis Public schools. He graduated from Central High School in 1972. It is also when he met Kathleen Gates (Smittie) to where four beautiful children were born.

Charles was a jack of all trades where he worked for E.M. Construction company. He was also known as a terrific mechanic. He still worked on cars even after unfortunately losing both of his legs.

Sadly, his health began to decline but he was still a great family man and was definitely the life of any party by telling his jokes and listening to the blues.

Moe leaves to cherish his memories: his children, James (Carmen) Gates, Charlisa (Steven) Perkins, Charles Jr. (Tenetra) Thomas, Keith Thomas; his brothers, Moses Jr. (Sarah) Thompson, Curtis (Christyne) Thomas and Terry Thomas; grandchildren, Antuauna Roby, James and Leslie Gates, Chanita Thomas, Charnita Thomas, Kanita Thomas, Emenia Washington; great grandchildren, Deseray Smith, Logan Bass, Chaniya Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
