Miss D'Myah Rankin-Fleming Obituary

On Saturday, January 24, 2021, DARRION and D’MYAH received their wings and made their transition to be with the Lord. Darrion Rashad Rankin-Fleming was born on August 30, 1994, to Suketha Rankin and Alex Fleming, Jr., who preceded him in death, and Anthony Brown (stepfather) also took part in Darrion’s life at a young age. D’Myah Tylise Rankin-Fleming (Gorgeous Olah) was born on July 10, 2013, to Darrion R. Rankin-Fleming, who preceded her in death that day, and Janiece D. Johns.

Darrion attended the University City School District. D’Myah last attended Confluence Academy. Darrion and D’Myah were inseparable, the Daddy-Daughter bond they shared was like no other. Their personalities were captivating and compelled you to fall in love with them at first sight. From childhood, Darrion had a kind heart and was very giving even until his last days. He had a way with words, and it came as no surprise that he would grow up to be a musical artist. Darrion also had another daughter who was loved by him and D’Myah so much. It’s amazing how much the three of them, DarrionD’Myah, and Darrielle, look alike. They are truly Daddy’s girls. D’Myah was the light of everyone’s eye who knew her. She was so bright and smart beyond her years and she had the biggest spirit ever. D’Myah loved being a “Big Sissy” to her little sisters, Nora and Darrielle. Myah had many roles, from big cousin to niece and best friend. D’Myah was the best daughter/boss to Darrion and Janiece. She showed them how to be parents and they loved each other very much.

Darrion and D’Myah loved everyone. Darrion was grateful for Janiece, the mother of D’Myah; please know you did an awesome job in raising her. Jasmine Cockrell, the mother of his second child, Darrielle Rankin-Fleming, Darrion was truly grateful for you as well. Thank you and please keep taking care of D’Myah’s sissy, Nova Neal. D’Myah’s other little sister, Sissy loves you so much and wants you to look after Mommy. Janiece (Mommy), D’Myah commends you for being her mother and wants you to know you are the best mother a little girl could ask for. Keep doing what you are doing and she will always be close by. Darrion’s and D’Myah’s spirits will continue to live on through us all. They will miss you terribly, but always remember, when you see something beautiful and bright, just know it is them. Play my songs when you miss me.

Darrion was the oldest of four and D’Myah was the oldest of two. They leave to forever cherish their memories: mothers, Suketha Rankin and Janiece Johns; grandmothers, Suketha and Yolanda Johns; grandfathers, Chad Jones, Jr., Damon Catchings, Anthony Brown, and Walter Israel; two great-grandmothers, Carrie Johns (who preceded her in death) and Elaina Rankin; two great-grandfathers, Robert Bell and Antonio Whitten; four aunts/sisters, Tyrie, Desiree, Danisha, and Trinity; ten uncles, Devin, Kerrion, Derrion Jr., Chad Jr., Rico, JaKing, Ronnell, Darryl, DaShawn, and Cameron; great-aunts and uncles; fourteen cousins; two special aunts/cousins/sisters; D’Myah’s two best friends, Skylar and Mariah; and a host of other family and friends who loved them and will miss them too.
