JUANITA WILLIAMS was born February 1, 1940 to Ella Victoria and Alex Scott in St. Louis, Missouri, who both preceded her in death. She was the second of eight children born from this union. Her two brothers, James Allen Scott and Johnny Kirk Scott, preceded her in death. Juanita was the loving mother of four children. Her son, Jeffrey L. Williams and daughter, Tracie R. Williams, also preceded her in death. She was a doting grandmother to sixteen grandchildren of whom two preceded her in death, Flynt D. Clemons and Terrell L. Williams
Juanita acknowledged her faith in God at an early age and worshipped at St. Nicholas Catholic Church for the majority of her adult life. Juanita was educated in the St. Louis Public School System. She graduated from Hadley Tech and successfully completed several semesters in St. Louis Community Colleges.
She worked for several years with the United States Post Office. She later realized her love was for teaching and started working at St. Nicholas/Central Catholic Private School teaching the kindergarten classes. She later went on to office administration at St. Nicholas, prior to her retirement. She was well loved and respected by teachers, parents and students.
She never knew a stranger and developed relationship with those in which she shared a ride on public transit. She enjoyed spending time on various casinos in the St. Louis area, when possible. She also found much pride in choosing her combinations whenever she was able to play her numbers. Juanita was well known throughout the area for her unique skills as a bingo caller.
Juanita departed this life peacefully on March 18, 2020 in St. Louis after losing her battle with colon cancer.
Juanita leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Donna Scott and Pamela Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory: nine granddaughters Tynisha, Tenia, DaJuana, Sharonda, Brandi, Angel, Promise, Jazmine, Kandace; five grandsons, Travian, Jeffrey, Khalil, Keyonis, and Tra. She also leaves one brother, Jamiel; four sisters, Catherine, Ella, Marlene, and Darlene; eleven great grandchildren, Andre, Aunyea, Ashton, Ahmad, Aniya, Randy, Amerie, Dream, Logan, Cody and Harmoni. In addition, there is a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends who grieve her passing.
All of our hearts are heavy as we say farewell to Juanita.
