Jerrilyn Eberhart Obituary

On April 19, 1954, an extraordinary human being, Jerrilyn Aria Lacey, was born in St. Louis, MO to Cornelius Fowler, Jr., and Jeannetta Lacey.

Jeannetta later married Sylvester Sisk, Jr., who adopted Jerrilyn and gave her his last name. In that union there were eight children.

Jerrilyn attended St. Louis public schools. In high school she enjoyed gymnastics, played volleyball, and was in the drama club. Jerrilyn graduated from Vashon High School in 1972. She furthered her education and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Hickey College.

Every person that met Jerrilyn either loved or hated her at first, until they got to know her better. She was a very straightforward, “give it to you raw,” type of person. Jerrilyn loved shopping, reading, and playing games on her Kindle. Jerrilyn loved helping people! Whether it was a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, or just a hand to pull you out of a situation, she was your girl! She also had a love for volunteering.

Jerrilyn worked at Defensive Mapping for several years, briefly at Veteran’s Hospital, and for the Ferguson-Florissant School District at Airport Elementary School. Jerrilyn was hired by the City of Berkeley as an Administrative Assistant. Because of her love for volunteering and Christmas (her favorite holiday), she organized Angel Wishes, a charity that helps people who are less fortunate in Berkeley during Christmastime. During her tenure at the City of Berkeley, Jerrilyn had many accomplishments some of which included: grant writing, organizing the city’s annual Fire Preventive Festival, helping organize the Police and Fire Safety Fair, organizing the employee Christmas gift exchange, serving on the Employee Advisory Committee, and organizing the 2007 Katrina Relief Center and the 2011 Tornado Disaster Relief Center for the disaster victims in Berkeley. She retired with over 20 years of service for the City of Berkeley.

Jerrilyn met William Eberhart, Sr., on October 15, 1984. The two decided to blend their families together and were married on December 17, 1990. In this union are six children, Vivian (Shanta), Shatonya (Tonya), Skayina (Kina), Dale (Jr), Fiera, and William (ManMan).

Jerrilyn was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer that metastasized to her brain. For seven long months she fought a miraculous fight. But on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, Jerrilyn lost her battle to cancer. Her father, Sylvester Sisk, Jr., and brother, Larry Sisk, Sr., preceded her in death.

Jerrilyn leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, William Eberhart, Sr.; their children, Vivian Eberhart, Shatonya (Karim) Holiday, Skayina Holmes, Dale (Kiaah) Holmes, Fiera Eberhart, William Eberhart, Jr., and honorary child, Wayne Embry; 11 grandchildren, Brittany Woods, Breyon Eberhart, Sydney Brown, Ajiah Suggs, Courtney Suggs, Charna’ King, Keontay Brown, Miya Brown, Khaliah Franklin, Kali Holmes, and one on the way; her mother, Jeannetta Sisk; siblings, Sharon Eskridge, Karen Shelton, Yvonne (OC) Oliver, Jerome (Susan) Sisk, Steven Sisk, and Ingrid Edmond; two best friends, Geraldine Kinsey and Carolyn Comer; several in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
