Deborah Hubbard Obituary

DEBORAH YOUNG was born to Harry Madison and  Lillie  Mae  Young  (both preceded her in death) on  March  4, 1956, in Saint  Louis, MO. She confessed  a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Ephesians  Baptist  Church.  She joyfully served on the Pastor's Love Club, sang in the Adult Choir, coordinated children's ministry activities and assisted with the  Children's  Choir  at  Stranger's Home M.B. Church. Later she joined her current church Influence Church  North County Campus. She participated joyfully in the girlfriend's small group.

Affectionately known to her family and friends as Debbie, she was the fourth of five children. One brother, Eddie C. Brown preceded her in death - leaving her, Vivian, Connie, Charley, respectively. She was educated in St. Louis Public Schools, a proud class of '74 graduate of Beaumont High School Home of the Blue Jackets. As a first generation college student, she moved to New Mexico to pursue her education and earned a baccalaureate degree from the University of the Incarnate Word, in Nursing.

Immediately after graduation, she began her career as a registered nurse. On September 5, 1982, Debbie was united in holy matrimony to Lee Lester Hubbard, Jr. Oater divorced); who preceded her in death. She prayed for one daughter and on June 3, 1983, LeDominique Hubbard was born to their union.

Soon after she moved back to her hometown of St. Louis, where she served as a stay at home mom for 18 years committed "to not let her daughter be a latch key kid." Looking to redefine her life after raising her daughter, Debbie decided a career in insurance would be her next venture. Debbie passed her licensure exam on the first try. On June 3, 2001, she started a new career as a Licensed Insurance Agent. After a decade as an agent, she transitioned to easier work as a Menard's stocker from which she retired. Debbie enjoyed life, family, and shopping. She had tremendous strength  and unwavering faith. She was known for taking care of those who were sick  and supporting the elderly. Once you entered her life, you were forever a part  of  her family. She felt obligated to encourage, empower, and speak a word into your life.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her daughter, LeDominique (Algernon) Rhodes and one grand-dog, Gladstone; three siblings, Vivian Cline, Connie (Thurman) West, Charley Gudy) Haynes Jr.; five nieces and eight nephews, Richard, Shuranda, Eddie, Eddie III, Joseph, Kellie, Kelsey, DeShunta, Jamar, Lamar, Sophia (Paul, Sr.), Elliot (Chantal), and her twin Candace (DJ); five great-nieces and four great-nephews, Kalim, Jalyn, David, Paije, Janiyah, Paul,Jr.,Javion, Lauren, and Alia; her childhood best friend, Marilyn Forbis; and close friend, Gladys Sims.

Debbie also leaves those she affectionately called her "kids", Sonja Clay, Kimberly Strong, Christopher C. Taylor, Dr. Lanor Payne, Zabrina "Kissy" Herron, Emily Geffrey) Simmons, Monica (Zachary) Jones, Tamika (Claude) Queeley, Trina (Andre) Cozart, Jeffery Williams, Lexie Walsh, and her girl, Darlene "Dee Dee" Calhoun"; and those she  affectionately called  her "grandkids",  Matthew  Graves, Destiny Herron, Arondo Irving III, and Kaylan House.
