Bennie Wilson, III Obituary

BENNIE WILSON, III was born in St. Louis, MO on April 13, 1958 to Rev. Bennie and Emma Mae Wilson. He was the third of six children. Bennie's parents, his brother, Charles Wilson; and nephew, Charles Marco Wilson; preceded him in death. 

Bennie confessed his hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of his father, the late Rev. Bennie Wilson, IL As an adult, he joined the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church and later, the Leonard Baptist Church until he was unable to attend. He was a praying man who loved the Lord. 

Bennie attended Bates Elementary and Beaumont High School. He was employed by St. Louis City Water company until his health failed him. 

Bennie was united in holy matrimony in 1978 to Debra Shumpert and to their union, three girls were born - Pamela, Latoya and Grace. 

Bennie had a special love for music and baseball. He was gifted mechanically in building structures/ facilities. He loved his family and spending his spare time in resale shops. He also valued his quiet time and just being by himself. Bennie had a laugh that would brighten any moment. 

Bennie departed this life March 10, 2020, and will be loved and remembered by all who knew him. 

Bennie leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters, Pamela Wilson, Latoya Wilson and Grace Shumpert-Wilson; nine grandkids, twelve great grandkids, five sisters, Christine Richardson of New York, Diane Stocking, Doris Harris, Minnie Rhymes (Milton) and Brenda Brothers (Trevor) all of St. Louis, MO; two uncles, George and James Wilson; one aunt, Jeanette Hamilton; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
