ARNOLD TYRONE TIPPETT, SR. was born September 4, 1956 in St. Louis, MO to the union of Curtis and Peccola Tippett. His parents and one brother, James Tippett, preceded him in death.
Arnold was educated in the St. Louis Public School system and graduated from Beaumont High School Class of 1976.
Arnold grew up on Lincoln Street and was affectionately known as Ump to his family and neighborhood friends.
Arnold married Tonya Joelean Phillips on September 3, 1988. From that union two boys were born, Arnold Tyrone Tippett Jr. and Austin Lester Tippett.
Arnold was a longtime member of Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
He was a US Postal Carrier for 33 years, retiring from the US Postal Service in March 2019. Arnold was a sports fan and enjoyed watching basketball, football, bowling, and golf. He would occasionally go fishing with friends. Ump enjoyed Old School Motown music and always greeted or referred to every female as Honey, Baby, or Sugar Pie. He was loved and will be sorely missed.
Arnold leaves behind two boys, Arnold T. Tippett Jr., Austin L. Tippett; granddaughter, grandson, one brother, C.L. Tippett; one sister, Charlene Tippett Green; brother-in-law, Delbert E. Green; adopted brother, Keith Barnett; Godson, Corey David Barnett; nieces and nephews, Ardra S. Tippett, Delbert E. Green, Heather J. Green; and a host of loving cousins and Lincoln Street Friends.
